Are you licensed?
Yes, in North Carolina you are required to have a current North Carolina Real Estate Brokers License in order to do Property Management. -
Can you put the money directly into my account?
Yes! In fact, we do not take checks from tenants and we do not make payments via checks to owners. We use ACH payments to our owners. Just like any other direct deposit and completely secure. -
Do I get to see the lease or sign it?
A copy of any current leases for your properties will be uploaded to your secure Owner Portal. You do not need to sign them since we will have a Property Management Agreement with you giving us authority to act as your legal Agent. -
Do you sell real estate too?
We will connect you with a trusted Real Estate Broker with partner with who will handle any buyer and/or seller transactions. If you are buying an investment property, we will typically make the connection, then stay informed throughout the process and come back in around the time the transaction closes to start managing the property. -
How and when do I get my checks?
We use secure ACH payments to direct deposit payments into your designated bank account. Typically payments are processed between the 10th & 15th of the month, usually being received no later than the 13th. -
How is rent collection handled?
Tenants have a secure Tenant Portal that they use to make online payments to us. -
How long of a lease do you sign?
Most properties are for a minimum of 1 year and up to 3 years at a time. We typically do not do leases less than 1 year unless the owner has directed us in advance to do so. -
How much security deposit do you charge the tenant?
Minimum is 1 month’s rent for a security deposit. -
How soon can you start managing my property?
Right away! We will want to first come view the property with you in person, but this is not always a requirement. We are happy to discuss with you though. -
What type of properties do you manage?
Single family and multi family residential properties. We will also manage small commercial properties. -
What type of reports do I get and how often?
We have a number of different property reports we can run for you and would be happy to at any time. To: You have access to run a number of different reports via your owner portal. -
Who holds the tenant security deposit?
MasterKey Property Management, LLC holds the security deposits in our Security Deposit Trust account.
